Spring Training update day 3 and catching spot...

Spring Training Day 3:

The only pitcher not report to camp is Luis Vizcaino, he is having Vista problems.

Rich Harden threw off the mound for the first time and he said he felt good as ever. Harden said he felt no pain in his arm. That is awesome news because when he is healthy, Harden is a dominant pitcher.

According to Cubs.com, Sean Marshall is the favor to win the 5th spot in the rotation.

Rich Harden said he wants to make at least 3o starts this season.

According to the Chicago Sun Times, Mike Stanton could join Neal Cotts as another lefty in the bullpen and let Marshall be the 5th starter.

Keith Law of ESPN.com is concerned about Carlos Zambrano and put the over/under on wins under 14. Bruce Levine reported earlier that Zambrano is going to have a breakout year. So we just have to see what happens when the season starts.

Reed Johnson has drop 14 pounds this offseason.

Milton Bradley is at camp early and is ready to go out and swing the bat. Other hitters that are at camp so far are So Taguchi, Mike Fontenot, Ryan Theriot, Reed Johnson, and Darwin Barney.

The Hitters don't have to meet until Tuesday at Mesa and the work out on Wednesday. A week before the Cubs start the Cactus League against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

On another note: Paul Bako and Koyie Hill will compete for the catching job. A lot of people thought when the Cubs signed Paul Bako, it was his job no matter what happens. If Paul Bako does not win the starting job to Koyie Hill, he will probably be release because he is to old to play in the minors.

I will keep you updated.
