The Cubs are scouting 24 year old pitcher Wei-Yin Chen in Asia. Scott Wilson the Cubs Asia Pacific scouting said he will write a report on him and send it to Jim Hendry.
An Al scout said if he does appear to play in the United States, about 15 teams will be interested.
Wei-Yin Chen 8-3 with a 1.45 era in 142.1 innings pitch in 2009. Yesterday was his last start of the season.
If he is that good, he may be a pitcher the Cubs should try and go after.
