Corey Koskie Retires, Hot Bats

According to the Chicago Sun Times, Corey Koskie retired today. Koskie will not try to make his comeback with the Chicago Cubs. Last week Koskie left a game, when he said he was not feeling good. This is from Cubs.com of what Koskie said, "You get caught up in what if I came back -- it'd be a great story," he said. "The big story is I had the opportunity to play. But is it really worth it to play?"

Spring Training recap:

The Cubs beat the White Sox 13-2.

These players will make the team for sure:

Alfonso Soriano went 2 for 3 with a single, homerun and a strikeout.
Ryan Theriot went 1 for 2 with a double and a walk.
Milton Bradley went 2 for 3 with a single, homerun and 3 rbi's.
Reed Johnson went 1 for 4 with a single and a rbi.
Mike Fontenot went 1 for 3 with a single and a walk.
Aaron Miles went 0 for 4.
Micah Hoffpauir went 1 for 2 with a single and a walk.
Joey Gathright went 0 for 1 with a walk and a strikeout.
Pitchers:
Sean Marshall pitch 5 innings and gave up 5 hits, 2 runs and 3 strikeouts.
Jeff Samardjzija pitch 1 inning and gave up 1 hit and 2 strikeouts.

Notables:
Jake Fox went 3 for 6 with a single, double, homerun, 5 rbi's and a strikeout.
Luis Vizcaino pitch 1 inning and struck out 2.

Notes:
Ted Lilly and Kosuke Fukudome will be at camp later this week.
Lou Pinella said he wants Geovany Soto to loose about 5 pounds.
Jim Hendry is now searching for a backup third baseman for Aramis Ramirez.
