Quick Hits, Jake Peavy

According to Buster Olney, the Cubs still have interest in Peavy.

Paul Sullivan says the Cubs could pursue Peavy once the ownership transition progresses before the last part of July.

Also Peavy had to say this "I praises the Cubs fans and the organization".

According to Hot Stove Cubbies, the Cubs are scouting infielders Mark Derosa, Chone Figgins, Christian Guzman and Felipe Lopez.

Stats on all 4 infielders this year so far:

Mark Derosa is batting .260 with 7 home runs, 30 rbis, 15 walks and struck out 38 times.

Chone Figgins is batting .288 with 0 home runs, 11 rbis, 22 walks and struck out 26 times.

Christian Guzman is batting .376 with 2 home runs, 11 rbis, 2 walks and struck out 18times.

Felipe Lopez is batting .323 with 4 home runs, 10 rbis, 15 walks, and struck out 28 times.

If I had to chose for which player I would go after, it will go in this order:
Christian Guzman
Felipe Lopez
Chone Figgins
Mark Derosa (I say he is last because the Cubs have to get on base and they need speed).

I will keep you posted as the rumors are starting to rool again.
