Cubs Could be Finalist for Matt Capps...

Recently release/non-tender Matt Capps said he has chosen finalists of the teams that he would sign with. He pick one and was said it was the Washington Nationals. Capps said he would want to be a closer for the team he signs with and the closer role is open in Washington. It is believe that Capps is looking for a 2 year contract and at the age of 26, he probably would be able to get that.

The other 2 teams that are believe to be the finalist are the Colorado Rockies and Chicago Cubs. Capps did mention that he will be a set-up guy if he went to a contending team and with Huston Street the closer in Colorado and Carlos Marmol the closer in Chicago, that is probably he would be.

We already new the Cubs were interetsed in him because after he was release the Cubs said and there was mutual interest. The Cubs are searching for a veteran relief pitcher and he would qualify as one.

I think Capps will sign a 2 year deal by the end of the weekend and hope it will be with the Cubs. A good deal will be for 2 years at 4-6 million all together.

I will keep you posted.
