Cubs Outfielder Situation..

Since the Red Sox sign free agent CF Mike Cameron to a 2 year contract worth 15.5 million, the Cubs step up there pursuit of OF Marlon Byrd. We have heard that the Cubs have been interested in him in the offseason but his asking price was too high. Byrd has the same agent as Milton Bradley. If because the contract given to Cameron has anything to do with what Byrd wants, you won't see Byrd in Cubbie Blue next season.

Lets get caught up of what has happen today:

Paul Sullivan says the Cubs do not have to trade Bradley before signing Byrd to a deal. In my opinion, what money would they have then.

Carrie Muskat says that Byrd is number one on there list, they also have interest in outfielders Rick Ankeil, Reed Johnson and Scott Podsednick. To me, Johnson and Pods are only fourth outfielders but Ankeil will be a starter and bat 5th. I would be fine with that signing.

The only thing, I hope is the Cubs sign a true CF which I think they will.

Side Note: The Cubs did not want to give CF Mike Cameron a second year and that is why he sign with the Red Sox.
