According to a radio station, the Cubs have interest in center fielder Johnny Damon. Last year Damon played with the Yankees and had a career year in home run. But that is because they screwed up on the dimensions in new Yankee stadium that make balls fly. The Yankees wanted Damon back but with the acquisition of Granderson, there not going to throw money at him. I think Damon ask for 2 years and 20 million but the Yankees rejected.
Damon who is 36, batted .282 with 24hr and 82rbi in 2009 for the Yankees.
I think this report is true because the Cubs need a CF, a left handed bat and a player that can lea off.
I really don't see the Cubs signing him because he wants to much and a team will give him that. I would only sign him a to a 1 year contract worth 5 or 6 million. There are some reasons I don't want to sign him because he was an ex Yankee and he is too old.
We just have to wait and see.
