Today the Cubs acquire IF Jeff Baker from the Colorado Rockies for Single A pitcher Alberto Alburquerque. To make a spot on the roster the Cubs had to DFA Ryan Freel. I would of rather like the to Cubs DFA Aaron Miles.
Alberto Alburquerque is 23 and when he makes the majors he will be close to thirty years old, so I like the move, to me the Cubs gave up nothing for the 28 year old utility man.
Arangure Jr. hears that the Cubs may have signed Venezuelan catcher Wilson Contreras for $850k.
I will keep you posted and I hope the Cubs make another trade (I think they will).
