Tom Rickett New Owner of Cubs and Roster Moves...

According to the Chicago Tribune, the Tribune Company and Tom Ricketts have a reached a deal to buy the Cubs for about 900 million. The next steps they have to do is go through the bankruptcy judge because the Tribune is in bankruptcy and get the MLB approval which could be finalized sometime in August. Today they sent a slip to the MLB to get the deal done.

Now can this give the Cubs more money and go make a big deal to help their team?

Ryan Freel and cash was traded to the Royals for a PTBNL. I am surprise the Cubs got something in return for him but still good news.

Today the Cubs activate pitcher Angel Guzman, 3B Aramis Ramirez and OF Reed Johnson off the DL today and sent Kevin Hart and Sam Fuld back to Triple A Iowa. Also David Patton was placed on the 15 day DL with a groin injury.

I will keep you posted.
