Injury Report, Hart Up, Fuld Down, Miles Rehab Start...

Today before the game the Cubs optioned OF Sam Fuld to Triple A Iowa and recalled P Kevin Hart to make the start today against the Nationals. Hart is most likely going to be sent down again and he also got his first major league start win today.

Aaron Miles had a rehab start for the Iowa Cubs and he went 1-5 with a double. Miles has not played since June 20th with the shoulder injury. I think if he does not produce fast he will be DFA.

Injury Report Ted Lilly:

“He said he could’ve pitched today if he had to,” Piniella said of the left-hander. “That’s a good sign for us. The decision to give him another 48 hours was a good one.”

Lilly wasn’t sure when he first felt some discomfort in his left knee. It hasn’t really slowed him from doing his work on the side, and he said, “it’s nothing major.”

“I was feeling OK,” Lilly said. “Hopefully with the rest, it’ll give me a chance to feel better.” cubs.com.

Ted Lilly is slated to pitch Monday against the Phillies.

Injury Report Ryan Dempster:

Dempster had a bullpen session Saturday and Pinella said it went OK. Dempster is going to have a X-Ray on Thursday when they return to Chicago and if everything goes well he will pitch a simulated game and then go to the minors.

Dempster is expected to come back late July or early August.

Injury Report Geovany Soto:

Soto is expected back early August with the left oblique injury.

I will keep you posted.
