Cubs Interested in Lugo, Soto-Demp Doing Well...

According to the Boston Hearld, the Cubs, Cards and Mets contacted the Red Sox about IF Julio Lugo. Lugo was DFA by the Red Sox earlier today and is not with the team in Toronto. Lugo is making 13.5 million this year and the Red Sox will likely eat most of it in a trade.

Lugo is batting .284 with 1 HR, 8 rbi's, 12 walks ans struck out 18 times in 37 games. He also has made 7 errors in 37 games, too me that is to much and if the Cubs get him he will likely play second. The Cubs then will DFA, trade or just plain release extra second baseman.

Geovany Soto and Ryan Dempster are healing fast and should be back faster than thought.

Alfonso Soriano jammed his finger into first base yesterday and is listed a day-to-day. Hoffpauir is taking his spot in LF in today's game.

I will keep you posted.
