Cubs/Pirates Still Talking, Aaron Miles Can't Hit, Bruce Levine...

According to the Pittsburgh Post, the Cubs are in regular contact with the Pirates. He did not mention who they are talking about but I imagine John Grabow, Tom Gozelanny, Freddy Sanchez or Zach Duke.

The Cubs are hesitant to take Aaron Miles off the DL because he can't hit. Miles went 0-4 today and is batting .220 for Triple A Iowa Cubs.

Hot Stove Cubbies mentions the Cubs are very busy at the deadline either adding or subtracting players.

Bruce Levine names players the Cubs have contacted or are looking at:

They have contacted relief pitchers George Sherrill, John Grabow, Joe Beimel and Arthur Rhodes. They are all lefty relievers.

They are looking at infielders Mark Teahen, Freddy Sanchez and Olando Cabrera.

NL Central Update:

The Reds and Yankees are talking pitcher Bronson Arroyo.

The Brewers and Mariners talking pitcher Jarrrod Washburn.

I will keep you posted.
