Cubs are about to Sign Rudy Jaramillo... Update?

Update 6:18: The Cubs just ask the Rangers for permission to talk to there hitting coach Rudy Jaramillo.

According to Jon Heyman via twitter the Cubs are in contact with hitting coach Rudy Jaramillo and it is believed that he will take the job with Cubs. A couple days ago Jaramillo decline a 1 year offer from the Rangers and will explore free agency. Jaramillo becomes a free agent on October 31st and the Cubs can not sign him until that day. It was believe that a lot of teams will be interested in Jaramillo but he wants to go to a team that can win it all and that will be the Cubs.

Now here is mire from David Kaplan: "GM Jim Hendry has been super aggressive since Jaramillo made it known that he would be leaving the Rangers and most baseball executives expect Jaramillo to choose the Cubs. Look for the Cubs to land him and to sign him to a multi-year deal worth at least $750,000 per season, which would make him the highest paid hitting coach in the game."

That will be a good move and already a big splash before the offseason started. There will be way more rumors and other notes in a bout a month.

I will keep you posted.
