Bruce Levine reported yesterday the Cubs sale will be completed by next week according to his sources.
"The plan is for the Ricketts family to meet with the media and team advisers by next Friday. At that time, it's assumed Ricketts also will unveil his plans for the future."
The 2 and a half long wait to sell the Cubs by Sam Zell, finally could be completed by next t week,
Earlier in the month, both Bruce Levine and David Kaplan reported that the Cubs sale will be completed by the end of the month and they were pretty much right on it.
Last week David Kaplan said on Chicago Tribune live that the Rickett family first order on business is to trade Milton Bradley, then maybe add another outfielder. Thanks to everything Cubs for that info.
Also yesterday the Cubs outrighted utility player Bobby Scales back to the minors, The Cubs 40 man roster, now stands at 38.
Before Bobby Scales made his MLB debut on May 5th he first played 11 years in the minors.
Scales will no doubt get a non-roster invitation to spring training in 2010.
I don't think Scales will be on the Cubs 25 man roster out of spring training but eventually will play for the Cubs in 2010.
I will keep you posted.
